Francis/Spadaro's Attack on Pro-Life "Value Voters" Counters John Paul II/Benedict "Emphasis" according to Vatican Expert John Allen
- Updated July 16, 2017-
Is Pope Francis pro-abortion?
Is Pope Francis's close confidant Fr. Antonio Spadaro who is called the papal "mouthpiece" directly speaking for the Pope when he attacked pro-life "value voters?"
Does the leading Catholic Vatican expert in America think Francis is going against the pro-life "emphasis" of the previous two Popes before him?
Crux editor left-leaning John Allen, who is said to be "America's leading Vaticanist" by Wikipedia, writing on the Spadaro attack piece reported:
"If you want to know what Francis himself makes of the Trump phenomenon... this is the best place to go."
"Second, this is not business as usual. It's rare for a Vatican media outlet... to comment directly on the politics of another nation, especially in a fashion that can't but be seen as fairly partisan..."
"Pope Francis and his team consciously are trying to reorient the ethos of the American church, away from the emphasis on Catholic identity and the cultural battles that dominated during the John Paul II and Benedict XVI years." (Crux, "Agree or not, it's good to know what Vatican insiders think of America," July 16, 2017)
"Value voters" and "cultural battles" are leftist code words for pro-life and pro-family Catholics whose first priority is the infallible Church teachings not liberal or secular political issues.
The Vatican expert Allen clearly shows that Spadaro's attack on pro-life "value voters" is approved and "consciously" directed by Francis himself for his own liberal and secular agenda.
He appears to be either opposed to, or at least makes secondary, not just to the last two Popes teachings, but the 2,000 year old infallible Catholic doctrines of the Church if those teachings counter his present secular liberal papal agenda.
Internationally renowned theologian Dr. Tracey Rowland agrees with Allen that Francis's teachings counterdict the previous two Pope's teachings.
Tracey, also, said Francis's Evangelii Gaudium tends "to give priority to praxis over theory... theory-praxis... tends toward an identification of Christianity with modern, secular (liberal or Marxist) process." ("Catholic Theology," Pages 174, 192, 198, 199)
Despite what Tracey and Allen write, some in the conservative media will immediately attack the unfortunate apparent reality that Pope Francis is pro-choice if pro-life moral teachings counterdict his secular agenda.
They will say look at his written and verbal pro-life statements.
The conservative media will say look how Francis verbally defended baby Charlie Chard against his own Vatican appointee.
The logical response is:
Why did he appoint a pro-abortionist to head the Academy for Life and why doesn't the Pope fired the papal appointee if Francis is really pro-life?
As for Francis's pro-life statements, it appears that the evidence shows that they are little more than lip service, very similar to leftist Catholic Tim Kaine's pro-life and Catholic statements.
Hillary Clinton's vice presidential running mate "Catholic" Kaine said "My faith is central to everything I do." He claims he is a faithful Catholic who accepts the teachings of the Church and is "personally opposed" to abortion.
Kaine while offering lip service to being against abortion has "a 100 percent pro-choice voting record for his time in the Senate from NARAL and Planned Parenthood" according to Religion and Politics writer Megan Sweas. (Breitbart, "Tim Kaine's Catholic Problem," October 5, 2016)
In other words, he like Hillary is pro-choice and for abortion on demand.
It appears that Francis like Kaine is "personally opposed" to abortion, but his actions, except for lip service, appear to show that like Kaine he is 100 percent pro-choice.
Does Francis's record show he is the first pro-choice Pope in history who is following in the footsteps of Kaine?
On February 7, Lifenews.com stated 150 million to a billion babies have been killed since the twentieth century pro-abortion legislation began.
The pro-life website, farther, said that Francis "had done nothing of any substance" to stop this holocaust (after noting he is the first Pope to use a pro-abortion euphemism "interruption of pregnancy" condemned by Pope John Paul II):
"Pope Francis, while he has made some brief references to abortion in homilies or speeches, has done nothing of any substance to address this mass killing."
Unfortunately, he has done the opposite.
He has acted like Kaine in giving lip service to being against abortion while in action being 100 percent pro-choice. The Pope, like Clinton's running mate, has promoted abortion, anti-pro-life statues and abortionists.
Francis said he is "gratified" by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals which "promote universal access to abortion" according to voiceofthefamily.com.
The Pope "removed every single member of the Vatican pro-life academy" and changed its statues to remove "the requirement for members to sign a pro-life declaration" according to Lifenews.com.
Francis received, for a private audience in the Vatican, Emma Bonino. She is Italy's leading promoter of abortion, sterilization and euthanasia.
He said she was a great historical figure and stated that she was one of Italy's "forgotten greats." She performed illegal abortions and worked "with the Information Centre on Sterilization and Abortion which boasted over 10,000 abortions" according to Lifenews.com.
Pope Francis's Vatican hosted Paul Ehrlick who has "called for forced abortion and mass sterilization" according to LIfenews.com. (Quotes above referenced in Catholic Monitor, "Is Pope Francis Pro-Abortion like Catholic Kaine Despite Lip Service?," February 19, 2017)
