Our nation has been pushed inexorably toward the left for decades.

Has this been caused by a simple evolutionary process, a normal outcome of a wealthy and successful society falling into middle age?

Or does it have some deeper cause, a more active agent of change?

This question seems to be of particular relevance today as the culture wars have spilled into the streets—some might even say they’ve been lost.

Political correctness, critical race theory, cancel culture, corporate media propaganda, Big Tech censorship, demonization of conservatives, and military wokeness are all techniques currently being employed.

How did we get here and where did this process begin?
