Could this be true?: @LostMyHats Many think that a “Messianic Jew” is a Jew who believes in Jesus. That’s a common misconception. A Jew who believes in Jesus is called a “Christian.” There’s not a special name for that. A Messianic Jew is a syncretist who despite believing in Jesus, chooses to retain post-temple, non-biblical rabbinic traditions that developed in opposition to Christ. This phenomenon also exists in Islam, in which “C5,” “Insider Movement, or “Messianic Muslims” profess faith in Jesus as Messiah, but retain Islamic cultural, social, and even some religious forms. Purely Talmudic traditions aren’t any more biblical than Koranic traditions, and both are in similar error. When one follows Christ, it requires letting go of false religion completely and embracing Jesus so fully that traditions invented in denial of Him have no quarter in our lives. 5:00 PM · Jan 11, 2026 · 140.4K Views
